I have been a teacher and a mentor to Dr. Hayley Owens over the past three years. At this time, she not only demonstrated a wide range of knowledge of the naturopathic modalities, but has also exhibited commitment to practicing from the foundations of our medicine.

I believe part of Dr. Owens’ understanding and mastery of the naturopathic principles comes from her own personal healing path which she has embraced for as long as I have known her. Dr. Owens’ compassion, intuition and beautiful spirit not only make her an asset to the naturopathic profession, but also reveal her true gifts as a natural healer.

As a Naturopathic Physician, I know that the body has an innate ability to heal itself.  Our bodies desire health, but certain factors can inhibit it from doing so; for example stress, diet, and lifestyle.  Symptoms, such as bloating or elevated blood pressure, are our body’s way of signaling that there is a problem.  I strongly believe in identifying and treating the root cause in order to achieve relief, rather than just suppressing the symptoms.  By doing a thorough intake of your case, which would include a physical examination and laboratory tests, I can determine what these obstacles are so that, together, we can alleviate the root cause and bring your body back into balance.

My path to becoming a Naturopathic Doctor was less than conventional, as I used to be a Chartered Accountant and Management Consultant in Vancouver for a number of years.  After some soul searching, I decided to follow my passion for medicine and serving people, which would change the course of my life forever.  I enrolled at the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine, where I completed the four year Doctorate Program.  Every day I am grateful for taking the leap to follow my heart and become a Naturopathic Doctor.  I am so passionate about this medicine, and most importantly, what it can do for you.

Hayley is incredibly present. She has an essence about her that is warm, kind, powerful and loving. By using her intelligence and intuitive abilities, she knows what types of questions to ask and is always an active and compassionate listener. All of these qualities make her an excellent Naturopathic physician.

When not working, I spend as much time as I can in the outdoors, to be close to nature and it's rejuvenating powers.  Whether it's hiking, camping, exercising or going to the beach, I'm always happiest when I'm outside.   I have always loved to play a lot of sports, and my favourites at the time being are tennis, volleyball and skiing.  I also love to explore the globe any chance I can get!

I run a general family practice, and have a clinical focus in Female Wellness, Digestive health, Skin health and Allergies.  Some of the types of practices I enjoy most are acupuncture, IV therapy, physical medicine including manipulations, total body modification and mind-body therapy, while always focusing a lot on the foundations of good health such as diet and lifestyle.  You can take a look here for a full list of services offered.

As a Naturopathic Doctor, my mission is to have a lasting impact on the way you achieve balance in your life, by sharing with you my knowledge and passion for natural medicine.  I intend to educate you, learn from you, and serve you with honesty, integrity and an open heart.  I am excited and grateful for the opportunity to guide you to your desired health goals, ultimately leading to a happier and healthier you!

Dr. Hayley Owens is the perfect blend of professional and relaxed. She easily creates an open and honest environment with a focus on your life as a whole. From my first appointment I knew that she was genuinely invested and interested in my well being.
