DR. HAYLEY OWENS
As a Naturopathic Physician, I know that the body has an innate ability to heal itself. Our bodies desire health, but certain factors can inhibit it from doing so; for example stress, diet, and lifestyle. Symptoms, such as bloating or elevated blood pressure, are our body’s way of signaling that there is a problem. I strongly believe in identifying and treating the root cause in order to achieve relief, rather than just suppressing the symptoms. By doing a thorough intake of your case, which would include a physical examination and laboratory tests, I can determine what these obstacles are so that, together, we can alleviate the root cause and bring your body back into balance.
My path to becoming a Naturopathic Doctor was less than conventional, as I used to be a Chartered Accountant and Management Consultant in Vancouver for a number of years. After some soul searching, I decided to follow my passion for medicine and serving people, which would change the course of my life forever. I enrolled at the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine, where I completed the four year Doctorate Program. Every day I am grateful for taking the leap to follow my heart and become a Naturopathic Doctor. I am so passionate about this medicine, and most importantly, what it can do for you.
When not working, I spend as much time as I can in the outdoors, to be close to nature and it's rejuvenating powers. Whether it's hiking, camping, exercising or going to the beach, I'm always happiest when I'm outside. I have always loved to play a lot of sports, and my favourites at the time being are tennis, horseback riding, volleyball and skiing. I also love to explore the globe any chance I can get!
In 2019 I welcomed my beautiful daughter Rowan into the world. She absolutely lights up my life, and everyone she comes into contact with. In March 2022 I gave birth to my second beautiful daughter, Sloane. She is an absolute gem! I adore being their mother, and, I have been fortunate to have found a wonderful balance between parenting them, and serving my patients.
I run a general family practice, and have a clinical focus in Female Wellness (fertility, hormones, PCOS, Endometriosis, Fibroids etc.), Digestive health, Environmental health, Skin health and Allergies. Some of the types of practices I enjoy most are acupuncture, IV therapy, physical medicine including manipulations, total body modification and mind-body therapy, while always focusing a lot on the foundations of good health such as diet and lifestyle. You can take a look here for a full list of services offered.
As a Naturopathic Doctor, my mission is to have a lasting impact on the way you achieve balance in your life, by sharing with you my knowledge and passion for natural medicine. I intend to educate you, learn from you, and serve you with honesty, integrity and an open heart. I am excited and grateful for the opportunity to guide you to your desired health goals, ultimately leading to a happier and healthier you!
